'Influence' is awarded by the developers for contributing to the development of the game in meaningful ways such as recruiting players , creating fan media, bug reporting on the official forums, valuable forum posts, as well as a monitary contributions.[1][2] 'Influence' is also sometimes called 'Influence Points' - but is not to be confused with IP (also called 'Influence Points') which formerly was planned to be a currency.
Total Influence[]
Total Influence is an indication of your influence in helping to make CoE successful.[3] Effectively, it is a permanent measure of all earned influence and never decreases.
Total Influence is earned by:
- Spending money on Game Tiers (both Kickstarter and Online Store) and Add-ons.
- Earning store credit (see below) by contributing to the community.
Total Influence = 10 x ($$ spent + store credit earned)
Total Influence determines the Tier level and border on your official forum profile as follows:
Ref.:[4]
Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 | Tier 5 | Tier 6 | Tier 7 | Tier 8 | Tier 9 | Tier 10 | Tier 11 | Tier 12 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
400 | 700 | 1,000 | 1,250 | 1,750 | 2,250 | 2,500 | 5,000 | 7,500 | 10,000 | 50,000 | 100,000 |
Community decision making[]
The Total Influence a community member has, determines their weight in community decision making. Soulbound Studios enables the player community of Chronicles of Elyria to determine the fate of their gameplay world(s) in a few subsequent decision making processes. The first is the process of Map Voting, which determined which map each server gets. That process has been completed in November 2018 and is described on a dedicated page. The second is the process of Domain & Settlement Selection, Which started Q4 2019 and is now ended. Settlers of Elyria will soon occur (A opportunity for people who didn't choose during DSS to pick their domains).
Store Credit[]
Store Credit (SC) [formerly known as Influence Points] can be spent in the online store.[5]
Store Credits are earned by recruiting friends or contributing to the community.[6]
- Inviting other paying/contributing members to the community
- Providing valuable information on the community forums or Wiki
- Asking intelligent questions in Live Chat
- Posting website, chat server, or game bugs
- Creating new journalistic content via blogs, YouTube videos, etc...
- Providing valuable feedback on design choices which alters the course
- Creating valuable game content via the content tools
- Providing impressive fan art or fan fiction
Store Credit for community contribution is at the discretion of Soulbound Studios.
Exposition Points[]
Exposition Points (EP) were formerly known as Bonus IP.[9]
Purchasing a package tier or add-on EP will increase your Total Influence based on the amount of money spent. Spending your EP will not reduce your Total Influence.
- Not all Total Influence from Kickstarter and store tiers is spendable EP.
- For example, backing at the Kickstarter Bloodline tier ($120) earns 1,200 Total Influence, but only includes 100 EP to spend during Exposition.
- Purchasing an EP add-on gives you additional spendable EP. However, Total Influence will only increase by the amount of money spent ($1 = 10 Total Influence points).
- For example, spending $100 for additional EP will increase your Total Influence by 1,000. Your spendable EP will however go up by 1250.
