An association is an organization that provides a service to the community or (public) government of a region.[1] Members of an association usually provide services to others that are unrelated to their character skills. Unlike schools or guilds, there are no restrictions to the amount of associations a character can be a part of.
Types of Associations[ | ]
There is a range of possible types of associations, from preservationists to religious organizations. [1]
Funding[ | ]
Similar to guilds, associations generate revenue from its members in the services they provide. However, unlike guilds, all revenue from the members is passed up to the leadership to be redistributed or consumed as necessary. Therefore, since it's expected that ALL revenue will be used in this way, associations don't typically pay income tax and are closely monitored by governments. If it's found that the association is more closely run like a guild, the lost money in taxes will have to be turned over by the association.[1]
